One my dearest clients, PSV Eindhoven, regularly tasks me with shooting portraits of their first team players. For the sessions, time is of the essence, as players have busy schedules. For this reason, we usually try to schedule the sessions straight after training and pick a location that is close to either the club’s training grounds or their stadium. The challenge here is making the most of the limited time we have, and creating some rapport with the player to allow them to relax and show their personality.

Some of the players I’ve photographer over the years include Steven Bergwijn, Nick Viergever, Pablo Rosario, Cody Gakpo, Trent Sainsbury, Oscar Hiljemark and Jorrit Hendrix.

These images were shot for the club’s printed magazine and are also used on various occasions when the club needs an image of the player outside of the pitch.
