All new starts are hard, and starting a new blog is infamous within the overpopulated world of hard new starts. It’s not like this is the first time I’ve tried this, so therefore let’s do a bit of reframing: this is not a blog!
Even though the URL for this page contains the word blog, I like to think of this new section as a collection of stories. Unlike a blog, I will most definitely not post a new story regularly. Therefore, I urge you not to bookmark this page or visit frequently to see if there’s any new content to be found. Should you wish to stay up to date please feel free to find me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I promise I’ll share any updates on these networks.
On this blog that isn’t a blog, I’ll be collecting a portfolio of random stories about my ventures as an active lifestyle photographer. View it as a behind the scenes look of what went into making the portfolio albums you were treated to when you first opened this website. These stories won’t necessarily be recent, as I sometimes find it better to talk about adventures and assignments in retrospect. This way, I’ll be able to show you the final deliverables and reflect on the whole experience.
If this is all a tad bit vague to you, I absolutely understand. Just bear with me, as some of the stories I’d like to share with you include:
- Photographing Adam Ondra, the best climber in the world, climbing with a blindfold on
- Navigating the treacherous terrain of the Swiss Alps with my ankle in a cast
- Capturing the images for Dutch football club PSV Eindhoven’s ticket sales marketing campaign
- Shooting intimate portraits of some of the best climbers in the world
Until next time.
